2026-Present · Founding Design Engineer
Founding Design Engineer at Sim, defining a new brand and visual direction while designing and shipping product UI, frontend systems, and AI-native micro-interactions for the open-source workspace for building and managing AI agents.
Joined Sim in May 2026 as its Founding Design Engineer. I own the bridge from brand to product to code: setting the visual direction, redesigning core interface systems, building production frontend UI, and creating interactions that make complex agent workflows feel clear, responsive, and alive.

Brand direction

Product interface
Redesigned core product surfaces and interaction patterns across the agent workspace, workflow canvas, navigation, product states, and platform storytelling.
Frontend UI
Design and ship production React and Next.js interfaces directly, closing the gap between product intent, visual polish, component behavior, and implementation quality.
AI-native interactions
Created interaction details for an agentic product: the gooey ThinkingLoader, state transitions, responsive feedback, motion systems, and micro-interactions that communicate what the AI is doing.
Design engineering system
Built reusable interface patterns and an internal motion studio for composing, reviewing, and exporting real product components as precise launch and product narratives.
Sim is an open-source workspace for technical teams to build, deploy, and manage AI agents and workflows. The product combines a visual canvas with models, tools, knowledge, tables, files, execution infrastructure, and production deployment in one system.
The company is part of Y Combinator's Spring 2025 batch. Sim is designed to make sophisticated agent workflows approachable without reducing the control technical teams need to move from prototype to production.
The $7M Series A and public adoption numbers show the context for the design work: Sim is moving quickly, serving a large developer community, and turning an open-source product into production infrastructure for real teams.
The role is the clearest expression of how I work now. I move across positioning, brand systems, product architecture, detailed interface design, production frontend, and motion—using one design-engineering practice to make a complex technical product coherent. The public GitHub history also makes the implementation work inspectable, not just represented by static portfolio images.
Public company metrics are sourced from Sim's November 2025 Series A announcement, Y Combinator's current company profile, and the public GitHub repository. GitHub counts were checked in September 2026; reported workflow and production-company counts are dated November 2025.
